Vizhi
For the ChatGPT and Codex desktop app

Vizhi for ChatGPT

The ChatGPT desktop app on the Logitech MX Creative Keypad, in both ChatGPT and Codex modes. Open a recent chat, answer Codex, dictate, and send, from one pad.

Version 1.1.3 · macOS and Windows · Available · formerly Vizhi Desktop

MX Creative Keypad running Vizhi for ChatGPT in ChatGPT mode. Top row: three recent chats, Plan my Japan trip, Polish my résumé and Summarize this report, each marked Ready. Middle row: New Chat, a red Deny key and a green Approve key. Bottom row: Screenshot, Dictate and Send.
Home in ChatGPT mode: your three most recent chats on top, New Chat with Deny and Approve in the middle, Screenshot, Dictate and Send below.

Vizhi for ChatGPT drives the ChatGPT desktop app on a Mac or a Windows PC from the keypad. The same two pages work in ChatGPT mode and in Codex mode, and the keys change with the mode. Voice runs on your computer. See the privacy policy. Not an OpenAI product.

Three promises: nothing is sent until you press Send (one-press prompts are the only exception), Approve always needs two presses and only ever allows once, and a key never guesses: if the app changed, the key says so and does nothing.

Three ways to use it

Keep a Codex task moving

Codex is fixing a bug and stops to ask before it runs the tests. Its card on the keypad turns to Allow? and Approve gets an amber dot. Press Approve twice and Codex carries on, without hunting for the button in the app. A red dot tells you to read the request first; Deny twice refuses it.

Turn a long email into three bullets

Copy the thread, switch to ChatGPT and press Tools → Paste into Chat. Press Dictate and say “Summarise this in three bullets and flag anything I need to answer”, then Send. When the answer is done, Tools → Copy Reply puts it on the clipboard, ready for your notes or your reply.

Ask about an error on screen

A build fails with a message you don't recognise. Press Screenshot, drag over the error, then Dictate: “What does this mean and how do I fix it?”, and Send. No copying, no typing out the error.

Availability

Vizhi for ChatGPT is available on the Logi Marketplace, for Mac and Windows. Install it from the Marketplace in Logi Options+. Questions: support@rshankar.com.

What you need

  • A Logitech MX Creative Keypad and Logi Options+ 6.4 or newer.
  • A Mac with Apple Silicon, or a PC with Windows 10 or 11.
  • The ChatGPT desktop app, signed in (on Windows, the Microsoft Store version). Codex mode is the Codex inside the same app.

Voice runs offline. The first time you use a voice key, it downloads the speech model once (about 150 MB), the same one Claude Console and Vizhi for Codex use.

You can install Vizhi for ChatGPT next to Claude Console and Vizhi for Codex.

How the keys work

  • The layout installs itself. The plugin adds a keypad profile called Vizhi Home for the ChatGPT app. There is nothing to import.
  • The keys appear when ChatGPT is in front. Switch to another app and the keypad shows that app's profile; switch back and Vizhi is there.
  • Two pages. Home has what you use most. The keypad's > button goes to Tools; < comes back.
  • Folders open in place. All Chats, Find Chat, Attach Files, Prompts or Tasks, and More open a page of keys with a Back key.
Tip

Don't open the live keys (the chat cards, Deny, Approve, Send) in the Options+ icon editor. It freezes them and they stop updating.

Permissions

Mac

Accessibility lets the plugin read the ChatGPT window (chat titles, button labels, whether an answer is running) and press its buttons. Microphone is asked the first time you dictate. Screen Recording is asked the first time you take a screenshot. Accessibility and Screen Recording are granted to the Logi Plugin Service, the microphone to Vizhi's voice helper.

Windows

Only microphone access, the first time you dictate. Every Windows file in the plugin is code-signed by the publisher Ravi Shankar S.

Deny and Approve sit where Claude Console and Vizhi for Codex put No and Yes, so answering is the same reach on every Vizhi keypad. Send turns into Stop while an answer is running.

Everyday use

Dictate, check, send

  1. Press Dictate, speak, press it again.
  2. Your words appear in the chat's text box, under anything already there. Nothing is sent.
  3. Read it, then press Send.

Find a conversation

  • Your three most recent chats are on Home. Press one to open it.
  • Tools → All Chats lists every chat in the sidebar.
  • Tools → Find Chat → Speak Query: say a few words, then pick a result.

Prompts and tasks

Tools → Prompts in ChatGPT, or Tasks in Codex, holds one-press requests. Some send at once, like Summarize or Run Tests. Others ask you to speak first, like Rewrite or Debug: press, say what you want, press again, check, and Send.

What the keys show

KeyWhat it means
Chat card: Ready, Working, Complete The chat is idle, the answer is running, or it just finished.
Chat card: Allow? That Codex task is waiting for permission. Use Deny or Approve.
Deny / Approve with an amber or red dot A request is waiting. Red means it looks risky. Without a dot, there is nothing to answer.
Grey Deny / Approve The plugin can't read the ChatGPT window. Bring the app back to the front.
Send: No draft The text box is empty. Dictate or paste first.
Screenshot: Attached The image is in the text box. Add your question and press Send.

Troubleshooting

What you seeWhat to do
The Vizhi keys are gone. Another app is in front. Switch back to ChatGPT.
A key says Open App or Open Chat. Open the ChatGPT app, or open a chat in it.
A key says Use ChatGPT or Use Codex. That key works in the other mode. Press To ChatGPT or To Codex on Tools.
A key says Mode Changed. The app switched mode between seeing the key and pressing it. Nothing happened; press again.
Approve says Press again. That's the confirmation. Press it a second time to allow.
Screenshot says Check Image. The app didn't confirm the image. Look at the text box before capturing again.
A key says Insert Draft First or Finish Speaking. A dictation is still in progress. Finish it, then press the key again.
Copy Reply says No answer. Wait until the answer finishes, or open a chat that has one.

Still stuck? Send the plugin log with your report: ~/Library/Application Support/Logi/LogiPluginService/Logs/plugin_logs/VizhiDesktop.log.

Uninstall

  1. In Logi Options+, right-click Vizhi for ChatGPT and choose Uninstall.
  2. Delete the Vizhi Home profile from the ChatGPT app's keypad profiles if it is still there.
  3. That's it: uninstalling removes the plugin's files, including the speech model. A small VizhiDesktop Settings folder keeps your prompts for a reinstall; delete it from the Logi Plugin Service's PluginData folder if you don't want it. (1.0.0 kept its files in ~/.claude/claude-console; 1.1.0 moves your settings out and leaves that folder alone.)

What's new

1.1.3

  • Vizhi Desktop is now Vizhi for ChatGPT. Updating keeps your layouts and settings.

1.1.2

  • Approve and Deny never ignore a press: if the key hasn't shown the request yet, it says Checking, then Press again.

1.1.1

  • Windows keys answer much faster, and a key pressed while another action runs says Busy instead of doing nothing.

1.1.0

  • Windows. Every key works with the ChatGPT app from the Microsoft Store.
  • Dictation is never lost: words that can't be delivered are kept as a draft and copied to the clipboard. Tap to insert, hold to discard.
  • A deleted layout stays deleted, and the plugin no longer restarts Logi's services.
  • The plugin keeps its files in the Logi plugin data folder, and uninstalling removes them.
  • Find Chat works in both modes and shows whole titles; Voice Chat can end a session; Copy Reply works in project chats.
  • The microphone prompt names Vizhi for ChatGPT. Allow it once more after updating.

1.0.0

  • First release, for the ChatGPT desktop app on Apple Silicon Macs, in ChatGPT and Codex modes.
  • Deny and Approve sit where the other Vizhi keypads put No and Yes; press twice, allow once.
  • Offline voice uses the same small speech model as Claude Console and Vizhi for Codex.
  • The Accessibility helper is signed and notarized by Apple.
